I haven’t been feeling well this past week, so I have been strict on my sleep schedule. Going to be at 9 pm is typically my goal so at 8:30, I take extra strength melatonin (highly recommend) otherwise I will be up until 1 am. Seems to be that my internal alarm clock decided to wake me up at 3 am today. No thank you. Trying to fall back asleep, I finally got out of bed at 4 am, made coffee, and started on homework.

With that, I pray I don’t crash at 2 pm because there are always things that need to be done. So here I lay on my bed, already finishing next weeks assignments, curly hair going all directions, glasses on, and baggy sweats to take on the day. The bright side of waking up early, is watching the sun rise (which truly starts the day off right), coffee & more coffee, but nonetheless than reflecting on how great it is to be able to wake up in the morning. Doing my research for an English paper, I have found that deciding to choose happiness over sorrow or regret changes your life forever. Here are the top three things that have helped me take on the busy-ness of life.
- Start a gratitude journal. Write down the top 5 things that are awesome about your day.
- Meditate. I love to sit with my eyes closed and truly take in the moment. Not only is it relaxing, but you are able to feel in control of your life.
- Lastly, stay organized. I have a set routine that I do between the time I wake up and the time I go to bed. (previously written in my post ‘What a Day, What a Day’.
